Backpacking with my quad

One of the great advantages of the Mini-H quad is that it backpacks easily.  this weekend I refined my technique a little and stuffed it in my old crumbler camera back and took it for a hike.

Hubsan X4 FPV 107D - the new king of Micro FPV ?

Hubsan have been releasing a whole string of little X4 multirotors the last year.  

First they released a straight microrotor, next they added a camera to that, make that a couple of revisions of the camera equipped X4.   in October they released the latest revision of the X4 FPV,  the h107D (the 4th micro X?)

BlackOut Mini-H spin - See it up CLOSE

Spin of my Blackout Mini-H quad. 

It really is one thing to know how small it is, and a totally different thing seeing it,  I did a 360 spin and you can see all the details.

Note my Mini-H is not stock,  I modified the front with a 3D printed replacement for the standard posts, so that I could get enough space to mount a Wide-Angle Mobius  camera in the front.  The Mobius is mounted in a printed "clip" which permit easy slide in-out.  the clip is suspended with 5mm thick pieces of sorbothane which completely remove jello from the Mobius video.

OK its been slow coming,  Im still getting used to how this little quad flies, but gotta say, it is a incredible fun to fly, responsive and picks up speed quickly.

HOLY BATSHIT BATMAN.!     I wanted one since the movie,  No really, its just a thing and it don't give backrubs,  but this thing is just plainly cool.  It is a model RC scale aircraft, personifying a aircraft from a animated feature movie.. its like flying FPV in your imagination. and trust me.. NON-RC people dig this thing big time..   you don't need to explain why its cool, they get it.  pop your goggles on a kids head and give them a free ride in a Pandora Warrior. Nuf Said.

FatShark PilotHD cam - the 50gram flight camera that almost rocks

 
Im not religious, absolutely not, well not unless you count my feelings for my FatSharks..  and the new PilotHD cam should be exactly what I have been waiting for right?   Well, yeah almost anyway, just that it don't actually work really well, it drops frames and its not actually HD, not unless you consider 960x520 to be HD.  Click through to read the details
